HEMAQ is a Tool for Analysing the Economic and Environmental Impact of Migrating towards Non-Road Mobile Machinery Emission Standards.
Based on machinery fleet characterisation, the tool estimates emissions for the baseline and regulatory scenarios. From the emission reductions, it estimates the changes in ambient PM2.5 concentrations and the resulting human health impacts in the area under analysis. The tool also estimates the costs associated with investment and operation of the new technologies, which are then compared with the associated benefits using a cost-benefit analysis.
